Keeping your office clean is a crucial part of business success. For starters, a clean office makes for a great first impression for your clients and customers. This not only helps your business acquire new customers but also retain existing customers.

Cleanliness is also important when it comes to creating a welcoming environment for your employees. A clean and tidy office space helps clear the mind of your employees, spurs creativity and improves productivity, all of which help in improving business performance.

To help you in keeping your office space as clean and germ-free as possible, companies need to invest in the right cleaning tools. Even if you employ a cleaning crew to keep your office space spotlessly clean, they need the right cleaning tools to get the job done right.

In many regards, the level of cleanliness in your office is directly linked to the cleaning tools your cleaning crew is equipped with for the job.

For starters, you should invest in high-quality sponge mops, vacuum cleaners, soft-scrub, broom and dustpan, cleaning towels, rubber gloves for the cleaning crew, dust towel, among other equipment.

As for cleaning chemicals, you should purchase the right glass cleaners, wood polish, environmentally friendly bleach, floor cleaning and disinfecting solutions, stainless steel polish, and much more. For small cleaning tasks, you need to provide your cleaning crew as well as your employees with disinfectant wipes, paper towels, etc.

In a nutshell, your cleaning tools and supplies should be able to cater to all of your cleaning needs. That said, there are must-have cleaning tools that every office should have. These include:

Cleaning Cloths

Cleaning cloths come in many types, forms, and sizes. Some are designed for wet cleaning while others are designed for dry cleaning. They include:

#1. Swabs – These cleaning cloths are multipurpose cleaning tools. However, they are best used for damp dusting and wet cleaning of various surfaces such as sinks and tables.

#2. Dusters – Dusters are cloths designed and meant for dusting surfaces. They are made using soft and absorbent materials. Cleaners can dry dust surfaces or wet dust surfaces using these cloths.

#3. Wipes – Wipes are cloths designed for wet cleaning surfaces such as wood, walls, glass, etc. They are made of loosely woven materials.

#4. Glass Cloths – These are lint-free cloths, typically made of linen-tow yarns and microfiber. They are designed to clean glass surfaces including window panes, glass tables, glass doors, and drinking glasses, etc.

Other cloths that your office should have include dust sheets, chamois leather, rags, and scrims.

Scouring Pads

Also known as a scourer, these pads are perfect utensil cleaning tools. The course material is designed to clean metal, glass, plastic, Teflon, melamine, and other materials commonly used to make utensils.  The synthetic scouring pad used to make this tool is tough enough to clean scour dirt and grime from office utensils while being soft enough to preserve sensitive surfaces such as Teflon.

Whether you choose a scourer with a sponge side or a pure scouring pad, it will help your employee keep the utensils and the sinks in the break room clean and dirt-free.

Sprayers & Pumps

Sprayers and pumps are important office cleaning tools. They help apply any liquid cleaning chemicals in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. For instance, they are perfect tools to use in applying bleach. They not only atomize the bleach, but they also reduce the contact your cleaning crew make with some harmful office and industrial cleaning solutions.

With the modern office design philosophy shifting towards allowing as much natural light into the office space as possible, you can rest assured that you will need to clean a lot of windows. As such, the cleaning crew must be equipped with squeegees to keep the windows dust-free, grime-free, and spotlessly clean.

As a business owner, businesses manager, or building manager, ensure you have the four products. They not only make office cleaning an efficient

endeavor, but they also ensure your business is clean and aesthetically pleasing; they are the foundation for creating great first impressions.
