IBM TotalStorage SAN Switch F16

The IBM TotalStorage SAN Switch F16 is a fibre channel switch. It provides 2Gbps fibre channel perfomance and advanced functions to support demands for improved security, performance and manageability. Remote tape vaulting and disk monitoring enables the switch to handle disaster tolerance. The F16 is designed to provide 2GB per second port-to-port throughput with auto-sensing capability for connecting to existing 1GB per second host servers, storage, and switches, in a smaller 1U form factor, requiring half the space of the previous 16-port SAN Switch. The new model is designed to be fully interoperable with the current IBM SAN Switches. The IBM SAN Switch Model F16 extends the broad range of scalable SAN connectivity solutions available from IBM for a wide variety of host and storage types.
