ZyXEL ES-2024A Managed Layer 2 Fast Ethernet Switch is a high performance edge connectivity solution for SMB and campus networks. Based on non-blocking 8.8 Gbps switching architecture, the ES-2024A provides 24-port 10/100Mbps Layer 2 switching capability at wire-speed over existing CAT-5 cabling to desktops. Its two dual-personality interfaces (RJ-45 or SFP) deliver Gigabit connectivity to long-loop reach and high-bandwidth applications.
ZyXEL ES-2024A features wide range security functions to prevent unauthorized data access. Supported 802.1x authentications restrict unauthorized users from legitimate user data and administrative traffic. Through cooperation with ZyXEL's RADIUS feature advanced access control can be implemented by verifying user name and password for converged networks serving both wired and wireless clients. Besides authentication protection, the ZyXEL ES-2024A supports mechanisms, including MAC filtering, MAC freezing and Specific MAC forwarding, to allow the network administrator to set security policy toward device MAC address. The ES-2024A is designed to offer comprehensive security features for enforcing security policies to the edge.
ZyXEL's ES-2024A supports 802.1w RSTP protocol to enable faster recovery from failed links and helps form a resilient link, which greatly improves uptime and network availability. In addition, implementation of the 802.3ad link aggregation standard can form a multi-port link aggregation to satisfy bandwidth demand flexibly. Meanwhile, link aggregation has the advantage of load sharing and backup links, which enhances availability.
Managing the ES-2024A is simple through its iStacking, SNMP, Web, telnet and RS-232 support. In contrast to conventional bounded network management, the ZyXEL ES-2024A demonstrates its power through advanced management capabilities, such as ZyXEL-exclusive iStacking clustering management technology, which allows administrators to manage up to 24 switches with one single IP. The smart capabilities significantly reduce operation cost and add flexibility to maintaining multiple ZyXEL switches. In addition, IT staff may opt for Web, CLI (Command Line Interface) or text-based configuration for their convenience and even encrypt the instructions using SSHv1/v2 and SSL. Thanks to these sophisticated functionalities, the IT staff is able to build a highly secure and efficient corporate network with minimum effort.

With the following warranty, ZyXEL guarantees that this product will be free from any defects, due to inferior materials or workmanship, for a period of up to two (2) years from the date of purchase. During the warranty period, should the product prove defective in workmanship and/or materials, ZyXEL’s RMA center will repair the product and/or replace the defective components or the defective product without charge on following terms:
Terms
This warranty is valid only upon presentation (together with the defective product) of a completed warranty card with purchase date filled in. If product purchase date is not filled in, the date of manufacture is considered as the beginning of the warranty period. The date of manufacture is determined according to the serial number. ZyXEL reserves the right to refuse free warranty service and replacement if the abovementioned documents are missing or incomplete or illegible.
This warranty does not award any right to compensation or cover of losses inflicted due to any alteration of the product for the purpose of matching it with national or local standards and safety regulations enforced in any country other than the country where the product was first purchased, without ZyXEL’s prior written permission.
This warranty will not apply if the product model or serial number has been defaced, modified, removed or is illegible.
This warranty does not cover:
4.1 Any adaptation and/or modification for the purpose of improvement and enhancement of the product’s usual range of application as described in the user guide without ZyXEL prior written permission.
4.2 Damages due to:
a) misuse, including but not limited to: (1) use of the product for the purpose other that that it is deigned for, or failure to follow ZyXEL user guide, and (2) product installation or operation in conditions other than specified by the standards and safety regulations enforced in the country of operation;
b) repair by anyone except for ZyXEL RMA center or dealers;
c) accident, lightning, water, fire, improper ventilation and other causes that does not come under ZyXEL control;
d) shipment except for the cases when it is carried our by the RMA;
e) Defects of the system in which the product was operated.
This warranty does not infringe upon customer’s legal rights given to him by the laws currently enforced in his country as well as consumer’s rights toward the dealer arising from the sale contract.
