With their appliance-like ease of installation, setup, and operation, thin clients running version 5.0 of Wyse Thin OS, formerly known as Wyse Blazer, combine low client cost, low power consumption, yet very high performance while keeping overall costs to a minimum. Designed from the ground up to perform, the Winterm 1125SE, 1200LE, and new S10 enables end-users to realize extremely responsive and latency-free interaction with applications running on a server using either RDP to connect to Windows Terminal Services or ICA to connect to a Citrix Presentation Server. Because the OS is truly thin, slower microprocessor speeds and modest system hardware is required resulting in low cost and low energy consumption. Application software executes via RDP and ICA several times faster on thin clients running the Wyse Thin OS than it does on other full-featured embedded operating systems. Furthermore, the thin clients achieve the utmost security from viruses and malicious software because the Wyse Thin OS software does not have a publicly exposed API that can be exploited by hackers.
