High Picture Quality and Bright Images
The VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 incorporate three high aperture 0.63-inch LCD Panels, offering native XGA (1024 x 768) and SVGA (800 x 600) resolution, respectively. A
brightness level of 2100 (VPL-EX4) and 2200 (VPL-ES4) lumens is achieved resulting from the combination of a highly efficient optical system and a 165W lamp.

3LCD Projection System
Because the VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 use a 3LCD projection system, projected images are bright and natural. 3LCD is a projection system using three LCD panels (also known as high-temperature polysilicon or HTPS). This system provides high light transmission and excellent color reproduction. It also provides smooth gradients in dark areas, and even helps prevent color breakup.

Short Projection Distance
The VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 come equipped with a short focal-length lens,which makes it possible to project images from a short distance. For example, an 80-inch image 1 can be projected from a distance of approximately 7-1/2 feet (2.3 meters).

Quiet Operation (Low Fan Noise)
Both the VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 have a very low fan noise allowing audiences to concentrate on the speaker during presentations.

Quick Start
Approximately four seconds after power is applied to the VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4, the projector's “start up image” is displayed and your presentation appears shortly thereafter.

High-Security (Control Panel Key Lock, Password Authentication System, Security Bar, and Kensington Lock)
Both the VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 have a control panel key lock and a password authentication system to help prevent unauthorized use of the projector. Also, a built-in security bar or Kensington lock can be used to help prevent theft.

Useful Remote Commander Unit
The supplied card-type Remote Commander unit can be used to adjust the VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 projector settings such as digital zoom and audio volume or to activate APA, picture muting, and picture freeze functions. Also, because IR receivers are located on both the front and rear of the projector, the Remote Commander unit is effective from almost anywhere in the room.

Input Flexibility (Multiscan Converter)
The VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 accept a wide variety of video input signals from standard definition (SD) to high definition (HD), including composite, S-Video (Y/C), and analog RGB/component via the HD D-sub 15 pin interfaces. In addition, the unit can accept computer signals from VGA up to SXGA+ (1400 x 1050).
