The VPL-EX3 incorporates three high aperture LCD panels, offering a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution. LCDs are known to produce greater color definition, and the VPL-EX3 is no exception. This projector also achieves a brightness of 2000 ANSI lumens, with a 165W lamp. bright and natural. 3LCD is a projection system using three LCD panels, which provides high light transmission and excellent color reproduction. It also provides smooth gradients in dark areas, and even helps prevent color breakup. The VPL-EX3 comes equipped with a short focal length and an aperture of F/1.6 to 1.94, which makes it possible to project images from a short distance. For example, a 60” image can be projected from a distance of approximately 6 feet (with an optional ceiling mount kit).
Connectivity and Security
The VPL-EX3 accepts a wide variety of video input signals from standard definition (SD) to high definition (HD), including composite, S-Video (Y/C), and analog RGB/component via the HD D-sub 15-pin interfaces. In addition, the unit can accept computer signals from VGA up to SXGA+ (1400 x 1050). The projector also helps to protect you and your investment with its Password Authentication System. Once a user sets a password, the projector cannot be used without it, preventing unauthorized use of the projector.
