The Sony FIU710/W is a fingerprint reader that comes with Secure Suite. It's compact size and carrying case make it extremely portable. It connects via a USB cable and uses a semi conductive capacitor with an electrical field to sense live fingerprints. The device process, encrypt, and store fingerprint templates internally rather than in a server or desktop database. Its memory allows for easy upgrading as the network security system grows. It functions as a smart card and complies with the Public Key Cryptography Standard (PKCS which means it can generate and store encryption keys digital certificates and signatures.
