I purchased a SCX-4300 early this year (2009) and was told before I left the store that the included toner was for demo only. I ran out after about 300 pages. I bought a new replacement cartridge on May 9 but promptly returned the same due to a dirty print output. After testing at the store on a new printer, it was replaced by a new cartridge. Having bought the printer based on price and an indicated output of about 2,000 pages. I thought there would be no other problems. Unfortunately the printer indicated a low toner at a total page count of only 1,364, as of Sept. 23. This included the output from the demo cartridge. What a rip off! At the rate (default setting) I am using the printer at home, I would have to replace the toner three (3) times a year or twice the cost of my printer! With the warranty still running, I should not use reloaded ink for it could void my warranty. I was told to bring the unit for proper check up. I doubt if it would result into anything favorable. I doubt if I would buy another toner or another Samsung laser printer for my office. Being a new printer in the Philippine market, I did not have the luxury of reading reviews before I bought the unit.
