A full-featured tool suite, RoamAbout Switch Manager (RASM) enables IT organizations to perform pre- and post-deployment planning, configuration, verification, management and optimization of the RoamAbout Wireless Switch System wireless LAN infrastructure. To begin the process, users import AutoCAD DXFTM, AutoCAD DWG, JPEG or GIF floor plan files to design the wireless LAN offline. Wizard-based Virtual Site Survey and automated capacity planning tools simplify the planning stage. RASM includes a library of attenuators for building obstacles, including doors, walls, ceilings, and other physical obstructions. RASM factors in the impact these objects have on how the radio frequency (RF) will flow through a given facility.
