Now you can print on plain paper with ink that is anything but ordinary. Unlike other inkjet printers, which use dye based or pigment based inks, the G500 uses a fast drying viscous ink. This special ink allows you to produce laser like quality prints on plain paper, highlight text with less ink smearing and smudging, and produce more durable waterproof and sulight resistant prints.

New, wider print heads are the driving force behind the G500 printer. They not only allow for the use of viscous ink, but also distribute ink to a larger area with more power than typical inkjet technologies. This means you can achieve both high speed and high quality prints on plain paper from the same affordable system. Plus, with these unique print heads, ink drop size can be controlled using a single nozzle, which gives you the flexibility to print solid, fine and even gradated images quickly without compromising quality.

GelSprinter Reliable Belt-Feeding System
Converntional inkjet printers use rollers to grab each sheet of paper reducing the amount of printable area. These rollers can also create rippling, which causes paper jams at high feed speeds. The Ricoh G500 uses an electrostatically powered belt feeding system that provides benefits not found in other inkjet printers. This belt feed design allows for a wider print area through the use of static electricity that holds each sheet of paper firmly in place.

The Value of Color for the Price of Black & White
The G500 printer features a print mode called Level Color that automatically reduces the ink thickness of graphics and images while maintaining normal thickness for text. The result is clear, easy to read text combined with eye catching color graphics and images at a cost per print that is about the same as black and white.
