DO NOT USE THE CHEAPER GENERICS! I had switched to the generic toners due to cost concerns and thought it was a great idea since the quality of the output remained the same. BUT ---- the problem with generics is that they damage the image drums. I kept a log of toner & drum replacements for 5 years. The generics will shorten your drum life by 1/2 to 2/3! Instead of 9 months of heavy use with OEM, it will be around 4 months with generics. Its hard to notice unless you keep a detailed log.

I have tried "just as good as the original" and it has not worked out so well. The OkiData branded products work best in their high end printers.
