Flip and Flip 3D
Windows Vista introduces two new features -- Flip and Flip 3D -- that enhance your Windows experience. Previously, users could scroll through open windows using the Alt+Tab key combination. This same feature has been enhanced with Windows Flip (top) to show thumbnails of the open windows as you scroll, making it easier to identify the window you wish to open.
With Flip 3D (bottom), you can use the scroll wheel on your mouse to navigate through a stack of thumbnails of open windows.
Windows Aero
Windows Vista is the first Windows version that automatically scales itself to the hardware capabilities of your computer. Computers that meet the minimum hardware requirements will enjoy the Windows Vista Basic experience, while more sophisticated machines will run enhanced environments. One such envrionment is Windows Aero, which includes spectacular visual features such as glass-like interface elements that you can see through.
Live Thumbnails
With Windows Vista, you can see the contents of a minimized window without having to open it. Simply rest the mouse pointer over the minimized window, and Vista will display a live thumbnail of the document, photo, or even running video.
