Lenovo ThinkPad X300 6478 Notebook Features
Portability and Ease of Use
ThinkPad X Series notebooks put the ultra in ultraportable. They're designed for maximum portability and light weight with no trade-off in usability or durability. The packages are small but the displays are not. X300 offers a 13" widescreen – huge for such a lightweight system. The new X300 extends Lenovo mobile innovation with a super-thin DVD burner. It makes the X300 the rare ultraportable with an integrated optical drive and helps keep the system profile to an astounding ¾ of an inch. The slim LED backlight display helps, too, and should ease eye strain when working long hours.
Extra Long Battery Life
ThinkPad X Series offers all-day computing, with battery life up to 12-plus hours (depending on configuration). How? Custom Lenovo power management features plus carefully selected low-voltage processors and, on the X300, new Solid State Drives with no moving parts. And X Series always offers the latest battery technology, for example the new Lithium-Polymer units which store more energy in a smaller space.
On-the-go people sometimes put themselves – and their notebooks – into risky situations. X Series notebooks are tough enough to take it. On the X300, next-generation ThinkPad "roll cage" technology uses a combination carbon-fiber/ glass-fiber top cover (similar to the bodies of the latest jet airplanes and Formula 1 race cars) for added strength and even less weight.
X Series notebooks are consistently available with the latest Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology, which delivers a wide variety of benefits including true parallel processing when running multi-threaded applications or multiple applications simultaneously. The Intel Centrino Pro platform (select models) provides hardware-based security and enhanced manageability, along with exceptional performance and outstanding mobility.
For optimal wireless reception, X Series features the UltraConnect II antenna, a combined design that supports IEEE 802.11a, b, g and "draft n" wireless technologies to help maximize wireless coverage and performance. The X Series focus on wireless even touches the ultra-durable top cover on the new X300, where signal strength has been preserved with patent-pending technology that molds strong, non-interfering glass-fiber sides to the tough carbon-fiber back.
