The Serial Interface Adapter (IA) connects from the CAT5 cable to a serial port. The Serial IA emulates a VT100 terminal device and allows serial devices to be viewed via the HP Server Console and HP IP Console. This allows devices such as network switches and routers as well as Linux and Unix servers that use serial console management to be viewed and controlled via the same KVM solution that is used for other servers.
