This media can accept dye ink just as well as pigment ink such as Epson UltraChrome. Since color printers don't do well printing grayscale images, I resorted to feeding the media into an Epson using a monochrome inkset, then again through an HP Designjet for the color part. Just an amazing media.

I use this paper strictly for photographs, and it does a great job.
However:
At the factory the end of the roll is sealed directly to the roll with masking tape. You can remove the tape without damaging the first foot if it is freshly manufactured; however, most of us know that masking tape becomes impossible to remove without damage to the substrate with time. Most manufactures wrap a piece of kraft paper around a roll and put the tape on the kraft paper - not so with HP. I found it impossible to complain to HP about this through the internet. When I buy fifty feet of a medium I expect to be able to use all of it - not just 49 feet.
