Comments about HP Fax 640:
used to have HP Office Jet, it died, got the 640 as replacement. use it for very infrequent faxing to businesses perhaps once a month. totally befuddled as to whether fax was successful, or even happened.
there was a toll-free number to test the 640, but it was switched to another number which required $1.99 for test. my land line is only local (i use a cell for out-of-area-code calls). could not come up with a way to pay the $1.99, so no test.
