LaserSoft Imaging SilverFast Ai 6 is a software program that combines an intuitive user interface with high-end professional tools. Predictable color from the software preview gives imaging and color reproduction a new dimension, securing the correct workflow with the ScanPilot. Users can adjust any operation, via numerical input, and precisely monitor the result using an online densitometer. SilverFast Ai 6 offers real-time processing to ensure all image manipulations are managed by a slider control. This feature updates the image as the user drags the mouse, which offers advantages in color processing, tonal values and gradation corrections. In addition, SilverFast Ai 6 contains a host of other innovative features that increase productivity. These include color cast removal, professional unsharp masking, multi-sampling to enhance dynamic range, selective color correction to the scan frame, and permanent soft proof CMYK color simulation for individual viewing of each of the channels.
Extraordinary image quality with 2400 x 4800 dpi resolution works together with Micro Step Drive technology to deliver brilliant clarity and detail.
Epson Micro Step Drive technology improves the quality of the sub scan resolution. The Epson Expression 10000XL uses a custom designed high-precision stepper motor mechanism in order to move the 2400 dpi CCD in “half-step” increments, thereby achieving a sub scan resolution of 4800 dpi. This system is ideal for scanning 35mm slides, fine art/line drawings, and other small originals that require critical sharpness, which is especially important for enlargements.
Smooth gradations with 48-bit color captures over 4 trillion colors and 4,096 shades of gray.
Enhanced color with ColorTrue II Imaging combines superior image processing, a long-lasting Xenon lamp, and Epson MatrixCCD technology for bold, vibrant scans. The scanner optics are comprised of precision glass lenses. These custom lenses are used to provide maximum resolving power. This, along with a 2400 dpi CCD, ensures remarkable image quality. The optical components are mounted in a matte black carriage. This helps maintain the precision alignment of the optics, and reduces any stray light or ghosting in the scanner. Dynamic Range Control is used to increase the exposure times of the CCD when scanning transparencies so that more data can be obtained from the shadow areas.
