The Avocent SwitchView SC540 KVM switch offers proven, secure access for any workstation environment where security is mandatory. With USB Common Access Card (CAC) reader support, and controlled USB connectivity, you can consolidate multiple workstations of varying security classification levels with one keyboard, monitor and mouse without compromising network security. Three levels of physical security including tamper-evident tape, chassis intrusion detection and locked memory prevents malicious tampering with the switch. Dual link video offers uncompromising video quality up to 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz. Dual head video (SC540 only) supports the most demanding workstation requirements. The SwitchView SC540 switch allows desktop IT administrators to deploy a single CAC reader that will switch to all computers connected to the switch.

Comments about Avocent SwitchView SC540 4 Port KVM Switch:
We have these on all the desks in our office (50+). As a KVM switch, it delivers as advertised. However, it randomly jams the keyboard or the mouse. They either stop functioning, or repeat continously the last keystroke/movement you were performing. The only way to stop it is to disconnect the keyboard or mouse from the back of the switch. If it was only one or two boxes, I would not be commenting here. They all do it. So, if you just hit DELETE, and it jams... be quick on the disconnet!
