Apple MacBook Features
Things Are Looking Brighter Thanks to a 13.3-inch glossy widescreen display, MacBook provides the perfect combination of pixels and portability. Photos feel crisper. Movies play vividly. Even daily tasks like surfing the web and checking email take on a whole new sheen.
iSight Cleverly integrated above the MacBook’s bright display, an iSight camera sits quietly, awaiting inspiration. This small camera lets you use iChat AV, iMovie HD, and Photo Booth to make big statements anywhere. So shout it from the rooftops. On location. Backstage. Back home. Show your point of view. Share it with the world.
ComboDrive
The ComboDrive reads and writes CDs and reads DVDs. Back up all your data and then watch a movie when you're done.
Go Wireless Take your work or study session to the local hot spot. MacBook comes with built-in AirPort Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi, offering up to five times the performance and up to twice the range of previous generations. A glance in the menu bar will tell you how strong your wireless signal is, what networks you have the opportunity to join, or how much battery power you have left.
Design Theory Good design leaves nothing to chance. Great design anticipates it. No surprise, then, that MacBook features little touches, like a klutz-proof power adapter and a nifty magnetic latch, that make your computing experience as streamlined as MacBook itself.
The MagSafe Power Adapter is a magnetic connection instead of a physical one. So tripping over a power cord won’t send your shiny new MacBook flying off a table or desk; the cord simply breaks cleanly away, without damage to either the cord or the system. As an added nicety, this means less wear on the connectors.
Connectivity
Two USB ports allow you to connect to USB based peripherals such as mice and external hard drives. The FireWire 400 port is a faster connection for external drives. The security port allows you to lock in a lock cable to keep the MacBook where you want it.
Bluetooth
Use built-in Bluetooth to connect and move files to your PDA or cell phone. Sync addresses. Download pictures from your cell phone. Add a special effect. Prefer a mouse to the scrolling trackpad? Use any Bluetooth mouse. Listen to your tunes with a wireless phone. Or record a podcast with a wireless headset, the same one you use for your cell phone. Bluetooth pairing makes it possible. MacBook makes it easy.
